Co-Founder, Shatha Sbeta, to present new research at Middle East Dialogue, Washington DC1 min read
Arab Millennial is proud to announce that our Co-Founder, Shatha Sbeta, is invited to speak at the Middle East Dialogue conference hosted by Policy Studies Organization (PSO) in Washington, DC.
The PSO is an international association for decision makers and a publisher of academic journals and books. It is one of Washington’s most prominent organisations that supports scholarship imperative for policy marketing and evaluation.
Shatha will be presenting a paper she co-authored with her colleague on the Sultanate of Oman, a very unique piece of research that has neither been explored nor published.
The title of her talk is “Geopolitical Equilibria in the Gulf: The Role of Oman”.
In her paper, she highlights the role of Oman in mainitaining power balance between the regional rivals, particularly Saudi Arabia and Iran.
It also highlights Oman’s uniqueness in being the only Gulf Arab state that follows the Abadhi sect of Islam with a distinct history of tolerance. She, therefore, argues that ‘Saudi Arabia must implement a geopolitical, sociopolitical and socioeconomic long term plan to strategically contain an Iranized post-Qaboos Oman’.
Arab Millennial therefore invites all its followers and supporters, particularly Arab millennials living around the Washington DC area, to register for the event and network with prominent Middle East and North Africa scholars.
Attendees and speakers will be addressed by former-US Ambassador Mark Hambley and Next Century Foundation President William Morris. The conference will take place this Friday, March 23, 2018, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm EDT. Shatha will be speaking at 12:30 pm.
